Most magazines are disposable by design. The Bioneer is not. The articles are commissioned to be read in five years as they are read in five weeks. The First Year is the object that treats the magazine the way the editors have always thought of it — as a work, not as a stream.
What is inside
All four issues of Volume 01, cover to cover. Spring through Winter 2026. The Biohacker’s Blueprint (inaugural, Spring), The Sleep Issue (Summer), The Hormone Issue (Fall), and The Decade Issue (Winter).
Each issue retains its original pagination, cover, and layout. The interior stock is upgraded to a heavier cream, the binding is Smyth-sewn, and the volume is clothbound in ink-colored linen with gold foil stamping on spine and front board. The volume sits flat when opened. It will outlive the copies it is bound from.
What is added
Three things, at the front and back of the volume, that were not in any single issue:
- A preface by Dr. Swet Chaudhari, MD. Written for the bound edition. On what changed in the practice over the publication’s first year, and what the editors got right and wrong.
- A cumulative index of every biomarker, protocol, study citation, and member-portrait subject. Twelve pages. Alphabetical. Designed to make the volume a reference, not only a read.
- An editor’s note. Short. On the founding year of the publication, the house style, and the few pieces the editors would have edited more carefully if they had the chance to do them again.
Print run
Five hundred copies. Numbered. Signed on the colophon by the Medical Director and the founding editor. When the five hundred are sold, the edition is closed. There will not be a second printing.
Who it is for
Members of Wellness Elite Fitness who have read the publication in real time and want the record. Readers of The Bioneer outside the facility who want the volume on a shelf where the other serious publications sit. Libraries and independent bookstores stocking a small number of copies by arrangement. The editor’s intent is that this object, left on a shelf in a thoughtful room, will be read in 2045 as it was read in 2027 — that the arguments were made carefully enough to hold up, and that the design was made carefully enough to invite the second reading.
Availability
Announced for January 2027. Copies reserved now will ship the week of release. Members of WEF receive first reservation. Remaining copies will be offered to subscribers and then to the general public in that order, until the five hundred are placed.
